Can Payday Loans Be Trusted?

Posted by admin in Uncategorized on 04-03-2013

Payday loan companies  offer what seems like a promising opportunity. However, if you evaluate  their services at a deeper level, you will see that there are some very  negative aspects to payday loans. Payday loan companies can’t be  trusted and we’re going to reveal the reasons why. It’s time that  consumers like you understand the hard facts about payday loans and the  reasons why they should be avoided like the plague.

Payday loan companies promote consecutive loans

A payday loan company will sometimes encourage their customers to  take out consecutive loans! Any financial expert will tell you that the  last thing you want to do when you are in debt is borrow more money.  Payday loan companies will make it sound like a good thing and they will  promote the positive benefits to it, without mentioning the  considerable debt it will put you in. Payday loans are very high  interest rate loans. The more borrowing you do the more interest you  will pay and the deeper your debt will get.

Payday loans have terribly high interest rates

The interest rate that you pay is representative of how much the  company is charging you on top of your loan. If you have a 20% APR, this  means that over the course of a year (annual percentage rate), you will  pay 20% in interest to the company. Payday loans are short-term, so it  won’t take a year to repay the loan. However, most payday loan companies  charge 200% interest or higher! That means your interest payments will  accumulate quickly.

Payday loans are supposed to be short-term

A payday loan is supposed to be a short-term loan. However, some  payday loan companies will allow you to extend your repayment date as  long as you want. This is bad because the longer you extend repayment,  the more interest you will pay. Any legitimate company would charge a  fee for not making your payment on time. However, payday loan companies  let you just keep going because they know their interest rate is so  high, that it’s going to make them money.

Payday loan companies do not check your credit score!

You probably know by now that credit is how banks determine your  eligibility for financing. Payday loan companies do not check your  credit whatsoever. This is an immediate sign that you might be dealing  with a company that is all about profit and not about secure financing.  By not checking credit scores, they can work with customers that will  undoubtedly not make their payments on time, and that just means more  money for them. On the surface, it seems like a good thing, but it can  be damaging to your finances.

Payday loans require immediate repayment

If you need a loan for anything serious, then a payday loan is not  the answer. They require immediate repayment, meaning you have to have  the loan paid off within 3-4 weeks after you begin borrowing. Most  people need loans for purchases or debt repayment. A loan that has to be  repaid quickly does them very little since it’s basically the same as  paying all at once.

Double Trouble

Double Trouble

Double Trouble, or double vision, is a problem for patients with a condition called strabismus. This condition affects the muscles that are used during movement of the eyes. Other common names for this condition include lazy eyes, crossed eyes or wandering eyes. As a result of these muscles becoming weak, it causes adults to have double vision, as their eyes become misaligned. Contrary to misinformation that it’s risky to correct this problem, strabismus surgery for adults is actually quite successful and results in Straight Eyes, which can dramatically improve the quality of a client’s daily life.

Strabismus can be a condition people are born with or it can develop from a secondary condition, such as a stroke, tumor, trauma to the eye, diabetes mellitus, or a brain aneurysm. Other times there really is no “scientific” reason why it develops. The condition can worsen over time or in some instances, it can develop suddenly. Strabismus can also occur when looking at things close up, when looking to the left or right, or at random times. Whatever the reason, surgery can help. Along with correcting double vision, surgery can also help with depth perception, clarity, and improving the eye appearance which helps with confidence in social situations.

Some people may have attempted to have eye surgery when they were children. If it failed, they may be skeptical about having it repeated. Advancements in this type of surgery have improved. Encouraging these patients to have a consultation can help their quality of life.

Since Strabismus surgery is a medical proceedure, be sure to consult the correct medical professional to perform the surgery. An ophthalmologist, who is an eye specialist, is trained to perform this surgery saftely. The surgery is generally done as an outpatient and rarely requires hospitalization. Recuperation time is usually only a few days. Medical insurance covers most of these procedures, but consult your specific carrier to know the details of coverage before scheduling surgery.

During surgery for Strabismus, most patients opt to stay awake for this procedure. Their eyes are numbed and this helps with any discomfort they may notice. Generally prescription pain medications are not necessary, rather, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or other such non-prescription medications help ease any symptoms post surgery.

Adult patients who benefit from strabismus surgery are usually happy, relieved, grateful, and more confident. There is no need to have double trouble with strabismus surgery as a solution.

Simple Steps for Staying Warm the Frugal Way

Posted by admin in Uncategorized on 10-01-2013

Rising energy prices and plummeting temperatures are a combination enough to bring even the most warm-blooded amongst us out in a cold sweat. If you’re on a tight budget then staying warm at home during the winter without running up heart-stoppingly high gas or electric bills seems like a faraway dream. But fear not, there are some ways you can survive winter and keep warm cheaply and they don’t all involve wrapping yourself up like a marshmallow.

 simplesteps

Tin Foil behind Your Radiators

By reflecting heat back into the room instead of allowing it to escape through the walls, this is a surprisingly simple tip that allows you to turn down your radiators, lowering your gas bills without lowering the temperature. Whilst you can buy special radiator foil, good quality kitchen foil works just as well and is much cheaper. Simply tape it to the wall with the shiny side facing the radiator.

Eliminate Draughts

There are all sorts of ways for cold air to make it into your home so sealing these off will make a big impact. Under doors, window cracks, cat flaps, letter boxes and between floorboards are all potential avenues for a chill to make its way in. Find the culprits by placing a candle near windows and doors. Sealing up any gaps will keep cold air out and warm air in, as will fitting a letterbox draught excluder. Carpets and rugs offer a layer of insulation against any cold air getting in through the gaps and, as a bonus, are warmer to walk on too.

Put up Curtains

This is another way to keep warmth in and the cold out but be sure to keep them open if and when the sun is shining through to make the most of the heat it can provide. Consider putting a heavy curtain up if you have an especially draughty front or back door.

Let Heat In

Alongside keeping curtains open on windows that get sunlight during the day, make sure that south or east facing walls do not have any external obstructions preventing them from getting the maximum heat. Where possible place items such as plants and sheds against north or west facing walls where they act as added insulation and do not block out light on other sides. Likewise with heavy furniture indoors; move bookcases and other large items next to exterior walls that do not get the sun.

Heat Selectively

Rather than have any heating you are using on full blast in every room, turn it to a minimum in rooms you don’t use. Ensure interior doors are kept closed and heat can stay where you need it. It’s more helpful for cutting bills, not to mention healthier, to have a couple of properly heated rooms than to struggle to keep a whole house passably warm. It’s also worth remembering that for most people nineteen degrees is warm enough, with every degree over that costing an additional ten per cent a year.

Move into the Kitchen

Baking will have the double effect of drying the air and heating it; warming the room and reducing the risk of condensation mould. Not only that but you get to enjoy the tasty treats it produces. If that isn’t enough, filling pies and casseroles will further keep your body warm by raising its core temperature.

Home for the Holidays

Posted by admin in Uncategorized on 07-12-2012

Having college kids seems hard for my friends. I always wonder how it will be like when my own children choose colleges that are far from our home. This will also mean that they will be staying in dorms or boarding houses and will only come home during vacation and holidays. My older nieces and nephews are coming home for the holidays and my brothers are excited to have them during this special occasion. These are some of the times that we spend together in our childhood home with our other relatives.

It is also the best time to chat up with them about their studies and college life. Though it seems fun to be away from the strict adults, my nieces and nephews do admit missing their parents, siblings and even their pets. They are actually full of complaints on their school work and activities. One who is majoring in Journalism says she’s going crazy writing tons of essays every month and wishes that the holidays will stretch longer so she won’t go back to school any time soon. My heart simply goes out to her and the rest of my nephews going to college because I also experienced the same during my time.

Some Very Rainy Places

The weather can be very fickle all over the world, but some spots are known for rain that they get every year.

The wettest spot on earth is the city of Cherrapunji, India with an average of 498 inches of rain each year. Most of the rain in the city falls during enormous monsoons that can bask the city in huge downpours for days at a time. The children in the area do not mind, however, because they stay nice and dry in their kids rain jacket by AllWeatherGear.com. The rest of the year, the city cries for any water having to walk many miles up and down a mountain to get water to drink and bathe, since the city does not have an adequate water system to move the water up the mountainside.

The second wettest spot on earth is nearby Mawsynram, India, with an average rainfall of 467.4 Inches. The wettest month of the year is July, when an average of 131 inches of rain falls. In fact, during the average month of July, only one day does not see any rain. Anglers near Mawsynram are very glad that they have their amazing Grundens to wear. These wonderful garments protect the anglers in all types of weather, even in the monsoons that hit Mawsynram.

The third wettest spot on earth is Waialeale, Hawaii, USA with 451 inches of rain. In fact, in 1863, this city saw an amazing 683 inches of rain in one year. April is the wettest month of the year with an average rainfall of 47.2 inches and an average daytime high of 78 degrees. In Waialeale, Hawaii, it usually rains every day except one during April.

The most rain to fall in one minute was recorded at Barst, Guadeloupe when it rained 1.5 inches in one minute. The most rain to fall in one day was 71.9 inches of rain in January 1966, at Foc-Foc Reunion.
